Vet Warns That “Golden Retriever Egg Challenge” Could Be Fatal For Your Pups

5 Signs Your Dog Needs a Probiotic

Social media challenges come and go like flashes in the pan, but while they’re hot, they take the Internet by storm.

The golden retriever egg challenge has been making its rounds across different platforms, but according to vets, this seemingly harmless act might actually be dangerous for your pups.

The challenge began from the idea that a golden retriever’s mouth is soft enough to carry and egg without breaking it, and performing it involves putting a raw egg into the mouth of one of these pups. So far, the challenge has shown mixed results, but vets say it’s time to nip it in the bud.

Eggshells can pose a choking hazard to dogs, and the uncooked egg could cause the contraction of a disease like salmonella, which can be present on the outside and the inside of an egg. Other bacterial infections may also be contracted. As such, it’s best to leave this challenge behind and go for safer options!
