When we take our dogs to the dog park, we want them to have fun and we want to have fun too, but there are certain things, rules if I may, to keep in mind to make sure that you and your dogs have the best time of your lives every time you’re at the dog park! Here’s Part 1, in case you missed it!
1. Keep a close eye on your dog
Here’s a rule I follow – no browsing on the internet when I’m at the dog park with my dog. Social media distracts you and if you take your eyes off your dog for just five minutes they’ll manage to get dragged into a fight or sneak behind a tree to poop. Having said that, don’t keep your dog on a leash at the park, it’s a dog park.
2. When they poop, please pick that up!
This goes without mentioning, of course. As dog parents we know it’s polite and right to pick up after your dog because apart from dogs even other dog lovers without dogs frequent the park and it would pose a problem to them. Let’s all do our part – keep the park clean!
3. Don’t wear nice clothes to the dog park
Whatever you do after your dog park visit, go home and change before you go anywhere else. You’re at the dog park, you’re bound to get dirty! Dogs are going to jump on you and maybe they’ll lick you so you want to wear clothes that you won’t mind getting stained or torn. Also, wear an old pair of sneakers, you never know what you step in!
How many of you follow these rules? Let us know in the comments!
