Adorable Dachshund Decides She's The Boss Of Her Saint Bernard Sibling!

Meet Dona an adorable dachshund pup who’s spending quality time with her Saint Bernard sibling Bella and the two are literally inseparable! Take a look at this!

According to the original uploader on YouTube, “Playful fight between our 4 years old Dona (dachshund) and 3 months old Bella (saint bernard).” Yes Dona is 4 years old so chances are that she has motherly love for the little Bella. But how often does that happen?

According to The Nest, “In dogs, maternal drive is so potent that even female dogs who are not pregnant may engage in nesting behavior, explains veterinary behaviorist Nicholas Dodman. The main center responsible for triggering maternal behavior in dogs is the hypothalamus.”

“The simple sight, smell and touch of a puppy nursing turns on the “maternal switch” in new doggie moms activating two hormones: oxytocin and prolactin. Oxytocin is responsible for promoting a strong bond between momma and her pups, whereas prolactin triggers maternal protectiveness.”
