Adventurous Pup Hops On A Train In Ireland And Lands Up In... Dublin!

Doing the same thing every day can get boring. That’s something that this pup knows all too well! Apparently sick of his safe life at home in Ireland, he decided to escape and run off to a commuter train station and hop on.

It wasn’t long before the pup had made the journey from Kildare to Dublin, all within half an hour. Suddenly, he was all alone in a big city, lost and unsure of how to get back. Luckily, some railway workers spotted him and decided to give him some help. They gave him a nickname – Hamish – and decided to assist him in finding his way home.

The staff posted on Twitter about this pup, sharing his photo and his story and attempting to locate the missing pooch’s family. They explained that he wasn’t microchipped and waiting for the Internet to do its thing. It wasn’t long before Hamish’s tale went viral!

In the meantime, workers had to keep Hamish safe and occupied. So they walked him around the station and showed him new places, and they even played some games of fetch. When Hamish’s family hadn’t reached out by that night, a rescue group called My Lovely Horse, which typically aids bigger animals, agreed to give him shelter overnight.

Meanwhile, locals in the area expressed their support and offered to take the pup in if his family couldn’t be located. Thankfully, that wasn’t necessary, as the family – very anxious and worried for him – came forward! The pup, whose real name is Tyson, had escaped while some repairs were taking place in his home.

Luckily, Tyson is now getting a microchip from My Lovely Horse, so the next time he decides to make a run for it, he’ll find his way home much quicker!

Share away, people!
