When you get married, you usually invite your family and closest friends, at least, to your wedding. That’s what Mansi Khanna did when she and her husband Kunal tied the knot – she invited her best friend, Sultan the dog!
Mansi first adopted Sultan eight years ago, so it made sense that he attend their traditional wedding. The pup arrived dressed smartly in a sherwani which had been made specially for him. He even walked down the aisle and entered the wedding with his Mommy!
The pup went on to take part actively in the wedding, including the exchange of vows, the ‘pheras’ ritual, and the yogurt and sweet feeding ritual. Not only that, the pup also walked around the shake paws with all the guests, his tail always wagging as he played the perfect host. What a good boy!
Mansi and Kunal are now on their honeymoon in Maldives, and hope that their story will inspire others to really include their pups as part of the family. While the pup couldn’t come along for the honeymoon, his parents make up for it by video calling him regularly! Aww!
