You may have seen the video floating around on the internet. Some smart fellow came up with the brilliant idea of sticking several long strips of toilet paper the ends of their fan blades, then turned on the fan.
As the fan spun, the cat goes absolutely wild, chasing after the fluttering toilet paper.
Unfortunately, every pet is different – a fact Natalee Salvador and her husband were reminded of when they tried this trick on their cat. Merlin was just completely unphased by this whirling toy, and did not bother giving it even a second glance. Evidently, they were going to have to make sure he stayed entertained the hard way.
Where Merlin was unimpressed, however, his sibling fell in love. Before the couple could remove their toy attempts, Bentley their 6-year-old English Bulldog came trotting around the corner. He took one look at the twirling toilet paper, and went absolutely nuts!
It was like a match made in heaven. Bentley was already a dog that would overreact at the smallest things – and this setup was meant to deliberately garner a reaction.
To the Salvadors’ delight, Bentley could not stop chasing and leaping after the trailing strips.
He just fell in love with the makeshift entertainment setup!
