Even Vets Couldn't Understand How This Dog Got A Strange Internal Injury That Ballooned His Face

Trevor the dachshund dog has always looked just like any type of sausage dog. He was slender with a long and squat body. And then, one day, something very strange happened.

Fran Jennings, Trevor’s Mom, was shocked one day when Trevor had suddenly expanded in size by around three times, like a balloon! Frightened, Jennings rushed the inflated dog to a Willows Veterinary Group veterinary facility, hoping to find out what happened.

Vets had never seen anything quite like this before and were, at first, completely puzzled. Because Trevor’s breathing was affected, he had to stay with the vets as they puzzled it over. Several X-rays and a full examination later, the vets discovered the problem: a strange internal injury that no one knows how he received.

It was a tiny little hole in his windpipe, and it was resulting in air leaking through it and into his body, around muscles and beneath skin. He was basically blowing himself up further with every inhalation.

Surgery was administered to close the hole in his windpipe. Now, Trevor is totally back to normal, and vets don’t think there will be any lasting damage from the unusual incident.

He’s back to being his usual excitable dog self!
