When your pup falls asleep, they can often be so cute that it’s hard not to watch them! If you have watched your pup’s naps before, then you’ve probably noticed that they twitch and move sometimes, as though dreaming.
What do you think they dream about? Chasing squirrels? Barking at cats? Being rewarded with lots of treats or a giant plate of bacon? As it turns out, that’s likely not what they’re dreaming about at all!
Recently, People Magazine interviewed an expert from Harvard University who studies the sleep cycles and dreams of dogs. This expert discussed interesting topics, like REM cycles and the leg movements that pups have when asleep, but then they talked about what it is most likely that pups actually have dreams about.
What’s the answer? Well, you!
That’s right! Pups are most likely dreaming about their own Mommies and Daddies while asleep! This is inferred because humans themselves often dream about things that they are interested in, and therefore it’s perfectly feasible to believe that animals, being very attached to their parents and families, would dream about those people who they love the most.
This adorable news took the community of pet parents by storm online! Many people began posting replies to the article, accompanied by pictures of their sleeping dogs.
So now, when your pup twitches in their sleep, you know that they’re dreaming about your face, your voice, your smell, or pleasing you and getting your attention! That’s just too cute and amazing! Dogs are too precious for this world. Like and share away!
