Kind Family Falls In Love With Blind Dog And His Friend Dumped In A Backyard

Three dachshund dogs found themselves frightened and lost in April when they were dumped in the backyard of a former dachshund rescuer in Oregon. No longer able to help, the man quickly took them to the Marion County Dog Services shelter.

One of the dogs there found a forever home very quickly, but staff soon noticed that the remaining two dogs had a closer bond than they originally imagined. You see, Herbie is blind, and Hilda was not just his best friend, but also his seeing-eye guide.

To make sure the two got the care they needed, they were moved to Salem’s Dogs, a smaller rescue organization.

After receiving all the necessary medical and health procedures, such as desexing, vaccinations, and microchipping, they were quickly adopted by a loving family: John and Dorothy Sinnar.

The pair had seen an ad for the loving dachshunds and immediately fell in love with them. They had just lost their own dachshund dog, who had passed away at the age of 16 years.

The Sinnars undertook a five-hour drive to pick up the dogs, and then they drove all the way back home to bring the dogs to Yakima, Washington, where they live. Now, the two dogs are living their best lives with their new family!
