A Nationwide Recall Has Been Issued For Multiple Pet Seizure Medications

C.O. Truxton, Inc., a company from Bellmawr, New Jersey, issued a recall for some of their medications on the 4th of April due to a label mix-up accident.

Although they received no reports of illness or issues with these product, they would like to exercise extra caution and are now expanding their recall to ensure that no pups are harmed.

The recall is for multiple packages of their Phenobarbital and Amitriptyline tablets. If wrongly ingested, the former – which is a sedative and anticonvulsant – can cause cardiogenic shock and renal failure and may even result in comas or death. The latter – which is a tricyclic antidepressant – can cause an uneven heart rate, drowsiness, hot and cold sensations, agitation or confusion, muscle stiffness, and hallucinations, and may even result in fainting or seizures.
