When these pup parents took in Styx, named after river she was found at in Baldwin County, Alabama, they definitely did not expect that they were actually adopting Chewbacca from Star Wars!
The pup and her brother Nipper – also a rescued pup, but from a mountain in Colorado – love to play together, and when they do, they often speak to each other. When Styx speaks, she opens up her mouth and calls out in the most warbling, Wookie-sounding cries ever! She sounds even more like Chewbacca than Chewbacca himself! Amazing!
When Styx was first found, she was covered in fleas and ticks, and she was bitter and depressed. Just look at her now! She’s a kind, gentle, and sassy pup with loads of personality. It just goes to show that making space for a pup in your life can reward you in strange ways – you might have a golden Chewbacca impersonator by the end of it! Like and share away, people!
