Pup Busts Out Of Shelter To Be With Woman Who Gave Him Treats!

They say that the quickest way to someone’s heart is through their stomach. With how motivated they are by food, it’s no wonder that this rule applies to dogs, too!

When Ted the German shepherd and Akita mix pup arrived at the Northwest Territories SPCA shelter in Canada, he was quite nervous. Staff frightened him and the environment was stressful for a pup of his age.

Then, a volunteer named Abbey came around to give the pup a walk. To coax him into trusting her, she fed him cheese-flavored bacon strips. While he enjoyed them, he much preferred the safety of his kennel and would not leave.

Abbey arranged to have a larger kennel prepared for the pup and went about her day. She went for her job, then came home at 6AM and was shocked by what she saw! Ted the pup was sitting on her porch, barking excitedly!

The pup had fallen in love with Abbey all thanks to those yummy treats she gave him, and he had somehow managed to escape the confines of the shelter and use his incredible tracking skills to find her home. Amazing!

Abbey officially became Ted’s Mommy shortly after! She had to move house to a place that allowed her to keep pets, but it was well worth it. Like and share away!
