Someone Abandoned This Poor Dog At A Random Property With A Handwritten Note

Reese the 13-year-old dachshund was confused and alone when she was abandoned off at a random Fayetteville, Georgia property.

Along with Reese, a note, handwritten and heartbreaking, was left too.

It said that the previous parent of Reese no longer had time to care for her due to caring for four children. They expressed a desire that whoever received the note would be able to care for the dog.

Luckily, the woman who lived on the property wanted to help. She took Reese in temporarily and made a social media post asking for help. The Royal Animal Refuge was soon tagged in the post, and Mariel Weigand, the director of the shelter, was very upset to hear about this.

Then again, she also understood the feeling of helplessness that Reese’s former family may have felt, as some animal control facilities in the area do not take surrenders.

Robyn Klein, a veteran foster parent with the Royal Animal Refuge, agreed to take Reese in while she awaited adoption. But Suzy Reevers, Klein’s mother, took one look at the dog and knew she wanted her.

Reeves had lost her own dog a few months previously and decided to foster Reese instead of her daughter.

But, of course, Reeves was soon in love with little Reese, so she decided to make an adoption official – and now Reese has her forever home again!
