When five-month-old Batty the blind bulldog pup arrived at the Sacramento SPCA, he was covered in his own feces and his chin was covered in a large abscess.
The person who dropped him off said they could not afford to fund the pup’s medical needs, but the story didn’t seem straight with the pup’s condition.
Things were difficult for this pup. He likely has glaucoma and it is believed that he could have been a result of backyard breeding. He had diarrhea that had straw and hay in it, implying poor living conditions.
Luckily, the pup took to the staff and flourished under the care he received. Squeaky toys excite him a lot, as he’d likely never had toys before this. The smart pup even managed to map out the office in his head and figure out where everything was. He now lives with a foster family and is awaiting a trip to a vet to check on his eye condition while taking antibiotics for the abscess.
