One of my biggest fears has always been that my dog would get loose and run away. Having chased one of my escape-artist dogs down the street on more than one occasion, my mind has gone through every possible “what if” you can imagine.
From getting hit by a car to finding a family that won’t return him to us, the idea of losing my dog is one of my biggest fears. I want to keep my fur kids safe at all costs.
That’s why when I heard there was a Navy vet who had come up with a wristband to secure a leash to your wrist, I knew I had to meet him. I met him at Global Pet Expo earlier this year – a man by the name of Bill Feldman, who had invented the wrist band when he adopted his own dog, Henry (yes, I got to meet the sweet and adorable Henry too).
He wanted to come up with a hands-free way to secure a dog leash to you while still providing a quick release if needed in an emergency.
He gave me a wristband to try and I have to say, what a great idea! Whether you’re looking for some added insurance (personally I would rather hang on to a leash at all costs) or want to enjoy a hands-free dog walking experience, this is a really great idea to secure your dog’s leash to you.
I am about as overprotective as dog parents come and I was really impressed at how secure it is and love that one wristband will work for even multiple leashes at once. It had me wondering how we’ve gone so long without something like this!
