Ruben the terrier is five years old, and his biggest passion in life is sleeping. Naps are very serious affairs to him.
Sure, the pup does like to go around barking at people and animals he doesn’t know, but nothing beats out sleeping when it comes to his top hobby. At least, that’s what David Harsanyi, the pup’s Dad, says.
Ruben’s love of sleeping means he sleeps everywhere, but one of his most common is a location that could make someone fear for his life! It’s a good thing his Dad knows what to expect by now, or he’d be having many heart attacks at the sight!
Ruben enjoys napping with Dad because Dad works from home, so the pup often likes sleeping next to – or on – his Dad’s feet. When Dad gets up to walk around, the pup does the same. If Dad goes upstairs, Ruben sits on the lower steps so he can properly keep watch over the whole house.
This means Ruben often winds up dozing off at the base of the stairs, and usually in a funny position. So whenever his Dad comes out to go back downstairs, he spots Ruben in a position that – at first – looks tragic and sad!
The pup tends to sleep on his back with his legs up, almost as though he’s playing dead. This makes it appear that he’s fallen down the steps and perished terribly, when in fact, all he’s doing is snoozing.
When he’s not busy crafting a theatrical scene to scare those unfamiliar with his routines, Ruben does have his own bed – a large, pink one that’s soft and plush! Perfect for serious naptime!
