Sleep is important for pups. It will depend on just how old the pup is, their breed, and (surprisingly) their size, but the average amount of sleep a pup needs averages about 12 to 14 hours.
That is easily over half a day spent on sleep! They certainly need it, however – pups don’t sleep as deeply as humans do, so their sleep isn’t as restful.
Which means that moments where they are sleeping soundly are incredibly precious for pups, such as this instance of this Beagle pup named Dolly being fast asleep in an armchair. You can see she is totally relaxed, lying down on her side with her belly exposed. You can even hear her snoring gently!
It is wonderful to see this pup being so relaxed. She must feel very safe and loved in this home, which is always very important when you are concerned about the wellbeing of a pup!
