Some pups can get incredibly protective of whatever they view as theirs – properties, belongings, and even people! This trait can be trained and shaped to make them really good guard pups, but can also get pretty problematic if allowed to go unchecked.
Most of the time though, it can just be really cute!
This German Shepherd puppy named Chuck really loves his toys – and playing with Dad, of course! While out in the garden, Dad decides to be a bit of a tease and ask Chuck if that’s his ball the pup is playing with. Regardless of the actual ownership of the ball, the pup is – of course – reluctant to part ways with it.
Instead, as soon as Dad steps closer, asking for the ball, this pup puts his head down protectively over the ball. And when he decides Dad is a little too close for comfort, takes off with it! His ball now!
