This guy is teaching his German shepherd to search for objects under the water. The shepherd is excited, as this is his first time he is doing a training like this one.
But we have no doubt that the shepherd will master this new technique!
His human says he can sniff out the object he’s searching for even when it’s up to 30 feet under water!
That is just incredible. A dog’s nose is so much stronger than ours.
According to PBS, “For one thing, they possess up to 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to about six million in us. And the part of a dog’s brain that is devoted to analyzing smells is, proportionally speaking, 40 times greater than ours. Dogs’ noses also function quite differently than our own.” No kidding!
