Bride Ditches Flowers For Puppy Bouquets To Remind Everyone To Rescue Dogs

5 Signs Your Dog Needs a Probiotic

The newest trend when a bride walks down the aisle is to have puppies instead of flowers!

Well, okay the bride probably doesn’t try to walk down the aisle an armful of puppies, but the bridal party each have a puppy they pose within the bridal photo shoot! In Pleasantville, Iowa, Samantha Clark, 23, reached out to AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport and asked if she could borrow some puppies for her big day! The Des Moines Register reported that the shelter was more than happy to accommodate her.

What a great idea to bring awareness about the puppies to the community! It is like free advertising for the shelter! All of the puppies at the wedding were almost 8-weeks old and were Chiweenies (which is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). Not only were the puppies a hit with the bridal party, but the guests were surprised too! Samantha is a dog-lover and wanted to include dogs in her wedding. Her efforts have given AHeinz57 shelter some publicity.

The only concern with this trend would be that on their brides may not be concerned with the welfare of the puppies, they just want puppies to be a part of their wedding. If you love dogs but don’t want to actually have them at the wedding, you could have your guests make a donation to a local shelter instead of gifts and have links to shelters on your wedding website. You could also have dog (or cat) themed gifts and décor!
