Pet Owner Arrested After Dog Rescued From 131 Degree Car

5 Signs Your Dog Needs a Probiotic

You would not leave a small child in a hot car, would you? Then why leave a small dog in a car? It seems just as irresponsible, doesn’t it? Well, even though we animal lovers see it that way, some dog owners simply do not.

A recent case in San Jacinto, California, reminds us of this once again. A small dog, Boomer, was left inside a car as owner of this precious pooch went to go do some shopping. While the temperature was around 99 degrees Fahrenheit outside, the temperature inside the car was slowly rising. Poor Boomer was stuck inside yelping and yelping for help from anybody.

Thankfully, a citizen passing through the parking lot heard the precious pooch’s cries for help and immediately went towards the car. By the time that this good Samaritan reached the car, poor little Boomer was already unconscious and was limp. The citizen immediately rescued Boomer out of the car and started life-saving procedures. Thankfully, Boomer was saved! Authorities located Boomer’s owner and placed the individual under arrest.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department

Authorities also report that when Boomer was rescued, the temperature inside the car had already reached 131 degrees Fahrenheit! Boomer is now in the care of the Remona Humane Society. This gut-wrenching story is a stark reminder of how quickly things can go wrong when rules are not followed. As much as we would love for our dogs to be able to communicate with us in a language we understand, they cannot. It is, therefore, our responsibility to look out for them too.
