Krista White, Founder

Hi! I’m Krista White and I founded A Dog’s Love™.

I have been a dog lover all my life. As a kid, I was obsessed with dogs. They were all I could think about. My favorite book was the Encyclopedia of Dogs and I had an assortment of stuffed animal dogs I would tuck into my bed each night, dreaming they were real. I made it my mission to adopt a dog of my very own and eventually, my dreams came true when my family brought home a sweet beagle named Toby.

The search wasn’t easy though. My family visited countless shelters as we looked for the right dog. I learned early on how heartbreaking it is that so many amazing dogs find themselves in shelters and that experience has never left me.

Toby, My First Dog

When I met Toby, she was instantly my best friend. She was always by my side, and as I grew up, we remained inseparable. She was the first dog to teach me what A Dog’s Love™ was and my experience with her landed me my first job at PetSmart. I was in heaven to be able to work around animals and what was even better – Toby could come to work with me!

Finally earning money of my own, I began donating to animal shelters. When I went off to college, I started an animal rights group on campus and hosted potlucks to help animals in need.

My #1 goal after college was to adopt another dog. Three months after graduating, I adopted a dachshund mix named Sage. She was 4 months old but had already been adopted and returned four times. She chose me to give her a forever home. A few years later, I adopted another dog – a terrier mix named Archie. He had been pulled from a high kill shelter just in time and these two immediately assumed the proper roles of being queen and king of the household.

Sadly, Toby is now at the Rainbow Bridge but I will never forget what she taught me. You never forget your first dog – or any dog for that matter!

Professionally, after college I began a career in Matchmaking and quickly became nationally recognized, being featured on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. I appeared in the Wall Street Journal as well, and wrote an Amazon Best-Selling Book (where Sage and Archie were featured). I donated all proceeds from my book to the Humane Society. My clients included multi-millionaires, politicians, high-ranking State Department officials, professional athletes, and ambassadors to foreign nations, all of whom I helped find success and fulfillment in their love lives. And in the summer of 2015 I walked away.

I enjoyed helping people, but something was missing. I had continued to donate and help shelter dogs in as many ways as I could, but it just wasn’t enough. I knew I had to do more and I wanted to focus my life on helping dogs.

I started adogslove.com as a place for dog lovers to ask questions, help shelter dogs, and enjoy all the wonderful things that are dogs. It was wonderful to see so many dog lovers, people who truly care just as much as I do. It was meeting all my fellow dog lovers that gave me the courage to walk away from my secure job and focus on A Dog’s Love™ full-time.

Rescue Bank

In the US alone, it’s estimated that 1.2 million shelter dogs are euthanized each year. Just one dog is too many for me,
so I launched the A Dog’s Love™ shop so dog lovers could shop for quality, unique items for themselves, friends, and their dogs while helping dogs in need. Every single purchase made at the shop helps feed shelter dogs in the USA.

A Dog’s Love™ is able to make the biggest impact by partnering with Rescue Bank to distribute food to shelters across America that are often overlooked and have trouble obtaining the resources they need to help dogs. We know every single bowl of food makes a difference for these dogs.

As you can probably tell, helping shelter dogs is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. With your help, we’re extending the time for shelter dogs, one meal, one day at a time.

I hope you’ll join me in my mission!

Warm wags,
