Black Labrador Retrievers Are A Part Of A Program That Teaches Fire Safety To Schoolchildren!

The Kasey Program was established in 1995 by Jeff Owens for the express purpose of teaching children about fire safety with the help of a few beautiful black Labrador Retrievers.

The program covers the typical stop, drop, and roll maneuvers, crawling below the threshold of smoke in a burning building, and how to know if a door nob is too hot to touch, but they cover this material with the labs which not only make it a little less scary, but fire safety also becomes a lot more fun when you see a dog “stop, drop, and roll!”

This is such a great program. It’s wonderful to know there are people like Jeff out there helping the community like this and we love that he’s involved his black labs in the process!
