10 Questions To Ask Your Dog’s Groomer Before Leaving Your Dogs With Them (Part 2)

Grooming is a huge, huge deal, especially for your dog. Being a responsible dog parent, you need to make sure that your dog will be safe with the groomer.

Remember not all groomers are equal and you need to be prepared with a list of questions to make sure that groomer is right for your dog. Here are some questions to ask your dog’s groomer before leaving your dogs with them. Here’s Part 1, in case you missed it!

1. Supervision

While dogs are waiting to be groomed, will someone be watching over them to see if they need anything? A professional groomer should have someone watching over dogs while they await their turn. If someone’s not watching them all the time, ask them how frequently someone at least checks on them. This is important.

2. Your presence

Ask the groomer if you’re allowed to watch the grooming process. If not, that’s okay, but can’t hurt to ask. Some groomers make this a possibility, while others believe your presence may distract your dogs who’re in their grooming session.

3. Dryers

Basically, there are two kinds of cage dryers – heated dryers and dryers that recirculate air. Opt for dryers that recirculate air because heated dryers can cause heatstroke.

4. Shampoo

If your dog uses a specific shampoo, ask your groomer if your can bring your own shampoo, especially if your dog suffers from allergies.

5. Grooming package

Ask your groomer what the grooming package includes and make sure you’re getting the best service for the best price.
