10 Ways To Get Exercise Done In Bad Weather!

It’s raining, but your dog needs exercise! Here are 10 ways to get exercise done in bad weather.

  1. Kong Toys. Get a Kong and stuff it with treats or prized foods and let it freeze overnight. Then give it to your dog and watch them work at the toy to get the yummy things within!
  2. Indoor Fetch. Use a light ball in a spacious room to play some safe indoor fetch.
  3. Hide-and-Seek. Teach your dog to stay, then find you when you call for them. Get creative with your hiding spots!
  4. Find-the-Treat. Hide treats around your house and let your dog try and find them!
  5. Bubble Chasing. Buy some non-toxic bubble solution and blow bubbles in a spacious room, encouraging your dog to “catch” them. Just five minutes of this can work wonders!
  6. Trick Training. Use the rainy day to teach your dog to do tricks like weaving through your legs, putting toys away, or playing dead.
  7. Tug-of-War. Grab a sturdy toy or item of clothing and go to town on a rough game of tug! Make sure you enforce rules to prevent overexcited biting.
  8. Indoor Agility. Make your dog an agility course indoors out of random objects and lead them through it.
  9. Puzzle Toys. Give your dog a puzzle toy to sharpen both their physical and mental prowess.
  10. Free Shaping. Give your dog a box or other random, safe object and let them decide what to do with it!
