We can’t leave our dogs bored all day! What shall we do?
Leave The TV On
It can serve as a source of entertainment, and may keep your dog company!
Set Them Up With A View
Put a bird-feeder in front of the window, or place a chair so they can watch the comings and goings of the street.
Get Him Exhausted
If you have your dog exhausted before you leave for the day, they’ll stay asleep until you get back!
Turn On Some Speakers
Have a playlist of songs for your dog to listen to. Or perhaps they may prefer a narrated audiobook instead!
Adopt Another Pup
A sibling to play with!
Get A Walker, Or Come Home During Lunch
If you’re close enough to home, you can just pop back for a quick visit. If not, hiring a dog walker would be of immense help.
Put Down Interactive Toys
Any toy that your dog can interact with can be a great source of entertainment. (Just don’t leave chew toys or toys with removable parts – they can become choking hazards.)
Get Yourself An Interactive Webcam
You may have seen interactive webcams like Furbo being advertised on YouTube channels. Such a device may be worth the investment.
Teach Them To Play Games By Themselves
A tug-o-war with a tug rope fixed to a wall, or a ball launcher can make for hours of fun!
Consider A Doggie Daycare
At the end of the day, dogs are social creatures that need supervision. Perhaps a daycare would be the best option for everyone involved.
Time For A Scavenger Hunt
Play hide-and-seek with your dog – but with treats left all over your house, like treasures waiting to be found!
