$15K Reward For Helping Authorities Catch Monster Who Left Two Abused Dogs On The Road

In Portsmouth, Rhode Island, a terrible case of animal cruelty took place. On Thanksgiving morning, Portsmouth Police Department received a call from a concerned civilian.

They had found two dogs who were starved and left for dead on the side of the road. When police got there, they found two emaciated females. They were skin and bones, barely hanging on to life. The dogs, who were named Turkey and Gravy by the rescuers, were rushed to an emergency veterinarian clinic.

The vets tried everything they could. Sadly, they couldn’t save Turkey. She needed to be euthanized. Otherwise, she would have died in agony. By some miracle, they managed to stabilize Gravy.

The Potter League For Animals, a local shelter, became very invested in this case. They took it upon themselves to report on the dogs’ condition. And if they weren’t angry enough when the girls were rescued from the side of the road, they were surely fuming when they found out Turkey had to be put down because some cruel human neglected her.

But it seemed that all they could do is inform people that if they can’t take care of their dog, there is always a shelter where they can drop them off instead of leaving them for dead. Fortunately, a generous anonymous person gave the shelter $5,000 to use as a reward for anyone who can offer enough information to identify the criminal.

After the shelter shared the story on their socials and announced there would be a reward, other people offered to donate to the cause. They have now raised over $15,000 to get justice for Turkey and Gravy. The person responsible for this crime hasn’t been identified yet. The silver lining is that Gravy is steadily healing, and she is finally happy and safe.
