Shelter dogs grab the softest spots in our hearts. As devoted dog parents, we often wish we could have an endless amount of money and fields of open land, allowing us to adopt as many dogs as we can.
Imagine the absolute joy of being bombarded with jellybean paws every minute of every day! What a life it would be. Unfortunately, our reality limits the number of four-legged friends we can have in our households, and shelter dogs eagerly await a forever home. Often victims of abuse, abandonment, or other circumstance, these dogs can spend many years of their lives in a shelter.
Some shelters do, however, get a happy ending to their life story! One four-legged shelter dog living in Eerie, Pennsylvania, got his lucky day! This precious pooch, Nutmeg, is sixteen years old and is seen as the “super senior” of the ANNA animal shelter. Recently, a family came by the shelter and chose to give Nutmeg a forever home! In this new home, she will have a furry-faced sibling, Donny, who was adopted from the same shelter just three years ago.
According to the shelter, Nutmeg was absolutely ecstatic when she finally got to leave with her new family and could not wait for her dog dad to let her into the car! The story of Nutmeg getting adopted is indeed heart-warming, as it goes to show that no matter the age of any fur baby, there is always hope that they too will find a forever family.
