Alright, let me just lay it out there straight for the world to read. If you don’t like dogs, I don’t know if we’d get along. Because come on, who doesn’t like dogs? But if you don’t, well tough luck, mate, tough luck. If you do, well, how you doing?!
Everyone loves dogs, and thankfully, I’ve never come across someone who doesn’t, and that’s because my brain automatically shuts down when I’m near people who don’t like dogs, so I guess I don’t know if they even exist around me. Blame my brain, people. So here’s the thing – you can either be a dog lover, or a dog parent, or both if you’re lucky! I know people who love dogs but can’t parent one, sadly. Here are some differences between a dog lover and a dog parent!
1. A dog lover will pet your dog and leave, but a dog parent will ask everything there is to know about your dog… especially that leash.
2. A dog lover will cry and move on when a dog dies in a movie, but a dog parent will mourn. Not only that, they will hug their dogs and sob and probably never watch any movie where dogs die.
3. A dog lover will go to the park and be happy to see dogs playing, but a dog parent will go to every dog parent and tell them everything about their dog.
4. A dog lover will go on a vacation as usual, but a dog parent will research and research about places their dogs can go to with them. It’s an internet rabbit hole, people.
5. A dog lover will live life as usual, go to brunch, go to parties, meet new friends, but a dog parent finds excuses to be home with their dog, and if they can’t be home, they’ll be forever thinking about them wherever they are.
6. A dog lover will look at all dogs equally, but a dog parent will compare that dog to their dog and think about what went wrong.
7. A dog lover won’t know names of all breeds, but a dog parent? Oh boy, don’t get me started. They’re a walking, breathing dog encyclopedia.
8. A dog lover just sees the happy side of having dogs, excitement and energy, but a dog parent gets to pick up the poops and knows what their dog’s burps and farts smell like.
9. A dog lover will take a selfie without a dog, but a dog parent’s photo isn’t complete if their dog isn’t in there.
How many of you agree?! Let us know in the comments! Watch out for Part 2!
