5 Ways To Give A Bulldog The Most Fulfilling Life Ever

We all want what’s best for our dogs but the problem is figuring out what exactly “best” means. What is “best” and how do you provide it to your bulldog? We have figured out 5 awesome ways to give a bully the most fulfilling life possible.

  1. Food
This one might sound like a no-brainer, but it’s a little more complex than just feeding your bulldog. The key is to feed them quality food and in moderation. You don’t have to opt for the most expensive stuff on the market, but do your research and get the best quality food you can afford. Work with your vet to find the right amount to actually feed your dog. Often times the amounts suggested on the dog food bags can be more than your dog really needs so if your vet says your fur kid is a little overweight, find out how you can adjust their food and activity to help. Keeping the extra pounds off can do wonders and make for a happier, more comfortable life.
  2. Work That Brain
It’s easy to shower our dogs with lots of love and affection, but sometimes it can be easy to forget about making sure they get enough mental simulation. Being able to put their minds to use and “work” will help them feel more satisfied and help them feel more fulfilled. Get them a good puzzle to provide extra mental stimulation too (this is one of my favorites). Puzzles are great for bulldogs because they involve a great motivating factor – food! This helps keep things fun and interesting for your bulldog and the more they have fun, positive outlets to use their smarts, the better they will feel (and it will help keep them out of trouble too).
  3. Play
Find some time each day to stop what you are doing and just play with your bulldog. Play fetch in the backyard, have a game of hide and seek, or take them to a local dog park to play. Whatever it is, find something your bulldog likes and make it part of your daily routine. It doesn’t need to be for hours on end, but just finding even 20 mins a day to play and have fun will make a difference. They’ll feel more at peace knowing they can always count on some quality time with you and taking the time to enjoy your best friend will strengthen your bond.
  4. Cuddles
This is an easy one! Take the time to cuddle your bulldog. Once they get all their wiggles out, make it a habit to end each day with some snuggle time. As puppies, dogs naturally snuggle up with their family when it’s nap time and enjoy feeling the presence of their littermates all around them. It’s comforting. It’s cozy. When they grow up, they may not have a whole litter of siblings to cuddle with anymore, but that’s where you come in! Give them those snuggles while you watch your favorite show or curl up with a good book. They don’t care what you are doing, so long as you are there, giving them love.
  5. Adventure
We all enjoy a little change of scenery every now and then. The same goes for our dogs! While your fur kid surely enjoys your regular walk paths, changing things up can be a lot of fun! Walk them somewhere new – even if it’s just the next street over. It will be filled with new sights, smells, and plenty of things to stimulate their doggie brains and satisfy that need for exploring with their pack (that’s you).
