As dog lovers and pet parents, we want to spoil our precious pooches! If we could shower them in all the treats in the world, we probably could. Unfortunately, this is not always our reality, no matter how much we wish it were.
We often find our budget is a little tight, and our four-legged friends seem to chew their way through our cash at an alarming rate! Thankfully, there are some ways in which we can cut costs and give our babies what they deserve.
- Higher quality treats: although it seems like this would cost more, in the long run, it is a saver. Higher nourishment means higher health and less empty calories. The healthier your canine companion, the less cost to see the vet!
- Delivered treats and making your own: some companies offer the delivery of an assortment of treats and toys. By doing this, it usually ends up cheaper than going out and buying every item on its own. You could also consider making your own treats, it will probably work out cheaper in any case!
- Couponing: keeping an eye out for specials and coupons could save you quite a bit more than you realize.
- Exchanges: another way to save money is by having exchanges with your friends, family, and maybe even your trainer. You could exchange toys with other pet parents, or offer to exchange services with a trainer (for example, trading training for baked goods).
- Self-service: if possible, you could consider grooming your four-legged friend yourself to cut a few costs. In addition to this, consider asking friends and family to dog sit for you, instead of using a company.
It seems like there are many different ways in which one can save, you simply need to go look for it!
