Being dog parents doesn’t mean that we get used to messy homes. Even our dogs know that the environment you live in impacts your thinking. A messy house brings negativity and we don’t want that for ourselves or for our dogs!
Let me tell you that when I don’t clean my house, I can see a difference in my dog’s behavior – he becomes, sort of, sad and I can tell that it’s the negativity from the mess that’s getting to him. Here are some tips to make your home your dog’s most favorite place on Earth!
1. Dog Paradise
If it is possible, make an area of your home your dog’s paradise. Wouldn’t you like it if there was a place in your home only for you? You can have all your favorite things in that place that you can enjoy at your own leisure… sounds nice, doesn’t it? Same goes for your dogs! Designate a special area for them where they can chill and relax when they need time-out!
2. Pee Area
Make sure your dog’s pee and poop area is away from public view so they don’t get anxious. As long as the pee/poop area isn’t in the kitchen or in the living room, your dog will feel more secure to do his business where no one’s watching. This is relevant to dogs who haven’t been potty trained yet.
3. Don’t Neglect
Don’t neglect your dog and remember, just like people, dogs need some tender loving care too. If they’re not fed, cleaned, and groomed properly they may get depressed and uncomfortable. Don’t make them become agitated by marking your calendar so you know what needs to be done and when it needs to be done.
