6 Ways To Take Care Of Your Dog When You Work Fulltime (Part 1)

As dog parents, the worst thing we can ever do is have a fulltime job. I absolutely hate closing the door behind me, knowing my dog is super unhappy with me leaving the house for so many hours, but we have to do what we have to do and without a job, how would you be able to support your family, right? But is there a way of making life easy for your dogs when you go to work?

It’s true that dogs don’t like it at all when you leave them alone in the house for hours and hours. They get bored, they miss you and they have nothing to do. Imagine being locked up for hours, what would you do? We may spend time on social media, but our dogs can’t do that. So here are some ways to take care of your dogs when you have a fulltime job.

1. Place them where they’re comfortable

Does your dog prefer to laze around in his crate or would they like to be left free to roam the house when you’re gone? Make that decision only after seeing where your dog is comfortable spending hours without you. Don’t forget to leave them with food and fresh water bowls.

2. Leave them with something that smells like you

It probably wouldn’t come as a surprise, but your dog loves you to the moon and back and so if they have something that smells like you, they can cuddle up to it to relax their minds. When your dog falls asleep with something that smells like you they will feel that you’re there to snuggle up with them.

3. Spend time with them when you can

Wake up earlier if you can and spend as much time as you can with your dogs. They shouldn’t feel neglected or unloved. If you are home early, instead of going out, stay in and cuddle your dog, tell them how much you missed them and what good boys or girls they were! Of course, if you have to go out, see if you can take your dogs with you, they’ll love the adventure!

How many of you do this? Let us know in the comments!
