8 Signs You’re Suffering From Separation Anxiety, And Not Your Dog! (Part 2)

The relationship we have with our dogs is so unique, so fulfilling and so precious that we can’t imagine how our lives would be without them, even for a second. Meet a human’s separation anxiety.

In case you didn’t know some dog parents suffer from separation anxiety, too! For example, apart from going outside to work, I don’t dare leave my dog’s side! Here are some signs you’re suffering from separation anxiety! Here’s Part 1, in case you missed it!

1. When you’re away from your dog, even if you’re in the same house in a separate room, you can’t help but wonder what they’re up to and if they’re missing you as much as you’re missing them. Let me break it to you, they’re probably enjoying themselves jumping around on your furniture and your bed. But maybe they’re missing you too.

2. Suddenly things get out of control and you’re stuck in traffic and it’ll take you at least a couple of hours to reach home. That’s the shortest horror story a dog parent could ever imagine. So you instantly whip out a photo of your dog and start talking to them like they’re going to get your message through it. They won’t. Like I mentioned earlier, they’re busy doing what they’re not supposed to be doing!

3. Because you’re a human and you have to work to support yourself and your dog, you use up all the sick days just so you can spend them with your dog, all cuddled up on the couch binge-watching your favorite shows together. You’re not sick, at all.

4. You organize a special night just for you and your pup and on that night, you cook dinner for your dog and make sure all ingredients are dog-friendly. So while your dog eats a homemade feast, you eat microwave noodles, because your dog matters more.
