Being a tall dog parent comes with its own set of surprises and challenges. For example, you can reach the tallest peak in the kitchen by just standing, but you can’t sit the front row anywhere because you obstruct everyone else’s view.
Being a tall dog parent, in my case, is a boon, but also a pain in the back and knees! My dog isn’t a tall dog, he’s a beagle, so you can imagine. I’m a tall person and my dog is 10 floors below me. Yeah, that’s the feeling I get. Here are some things only tall dog parents can understand!
1. You’ve been crouching down to pick your dog so much that you suffer from occasional backaches. Oh, true story.
2. You might be walking slowly, but because of the length of your legs, you’re running, according to your dogs. Solution? Baby steps, people. Baby steps.
3. If you had one wish to make, it would be to make your tiny dog humongous so life becomes easier.
4. You train your dog to jump into your arms so you can avoid crouching too much. Sometimes your dog aces it, other times…
