Whether you’re a dog parent or not, all dog lovers have one wish to make, if they could – to make all dogs immortal. Sadly, that’s not the world we live in.
Any dog person who goes through the loss of a dog knows how difficult the situation is, and no matter how hard we wish nothing happens to our dogs, they do cross the Rainbow Bridge at some point in our lives. To help you grieve, here are some special things you can do to honor your beloved dog.
1. Garden stone
Here’s an idea. If you’re an avid painter and you like painting on stones, you could paint something to honor your dog. If not, you can buy something similar to place in your yard. I bought mine years ago and placed it in a specific spot in my garden, a spot my dog loved to hang out in.
2. Donation
Another way to honor your dog’s memories is by donating money in their name to a shelter or an organization that helps dogs in need. This is a great way to honor your dog by helping other dogs.
3. Tattoo
If you’re up for it, you could even get yourself inked. Getting a memorial tattoo can be a touching tribute to your dog who crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
4. Frames
Find a photo of your dog that’s close to your heart, then frame it! How large you’d like depends on you, you can have one that fits your dressing table, or one that fits an entire wall.
If and when you lost your dog, how did you grieve? Let us know in the comments. Watch out for Part 2.
