Many dogs love the beach! But before you bring your dog to one, make sure you can follow these 9 basic etiquette guidelines.
Bring Water
It’s hot on the beach, and you don’t want your dog to drink salt water and get sick. Bring water bottles and a doggie bowl.
Bring Poop Bags
Your dog is, at some point, going to want to use the bathroom there. Clean up after yourself.
Be Considerate
Not everyone wants a dog to get up in their face. Keep your dog with your family and don’t let them bother others.
Train Them
If your dog isn’t trained to follow basic commands, they are not ready to be out in such a public setting.
Bring A Leash
Keep your dog controlled by using a leash, even on an off-leash beach. The sights and sounds can entice even the most obedient dog.
Walk Them First
Before going to the exciting beach, let your dog burn off some energy with a walk or some games of fetch.
Protect Paws
Hot sand can burn a dog’s sensitive paws. Use booties!
Keep Them Safe
Keep your dog’s welfare in mind and don’t endanger them.
Bring Toys
Your dog will love having toys to play with on the beach, and it’ll prevent them from stealing from others!
