Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center just welcomed very special additions to their Division of Child Life and Integrative Care: two Golden Retrievers named Drummer and Leica.
As part of the Animal Assisted Therapy Program, the two pups provide physical and emotional support to the patients there.
Drummer and Leica were trained through a nonprofit called Canine Assistants in Milton, Georgia. These pups will be at the hospital every day with their handlers to help make patients smile and feel better!
Everyone loves visiting with the dogs but there is one special little girl that has a great bond with Drummer. She has been in the hospital for a while and her family said because of how painful her condition is, they hadn’t seen her smile in months but the first time she met Drummer, everything changed!
