Abused Rescue Dog Spreads Love In Her New Home

KR Bailey from Burnsville, North Carolina has narrated how she adopted a rescue dog in 2018 after retiring from teaching elementary school. Although she had a little 1-year-old Morkie who her daughter brought home before leaving college, she felt she needed another dog to keep the energetic Morkie's company.

While scrolling through posts on Facebook one day, Bailey saw that a rescue organization which one of her friends was involved in had rescued a Maltese mix dog from an abusive home. The dog was matted and her jaw was broken from the abuse she had endured.

"When I saw the video of her cowering and shaking in the back of her crate, I knew I had to try and help her heal, not just physically but emotionally." Bailey said.

When the rescue took the dog to the vet to fix her jaw, they found out that it had already healed crookedly and could only be fixed if broken again. Since the dog didn't have trouble eating and drinking, they decide it was best to leave her jaws the way it was.

Bailey adopted the dog and began helping her learn to trust people again. It wasn't an easy journey, but it was worth it.

"She has been a part of our family now for five years and has transformed into the most sassy, loving, loyal little white dog anyone could wish for." Bailey said.
