Storm’s obsession with snow began the moment he was brought home by his parents. It makes him so happy every year to get to frolic in the snow as much as possible during winter.
Storm’s mom, Stephanie Larson, said that Storm spends 50 percent of his day outside and doesn’t want to go inside during the winter. When she forces him into the house, he is usually covered in snowballs and completely soaked. At the beginning of spring, he is always very depressed. Winter certainly clings to him for as long as possible.
Storm’s parents started creating a snow pile on the deck every winter as soon as they realized how much he loved snow. In this way, he would have a long time to play in the snow even if the snow in the grass started to melt.
During the past few weeks, Michigan’s weather has gotten a little warmer. Despite Storm’s assurances, Larson sensed that the snow pile on the deck wouldn’t last much longer.
Larson said Storm noticed right away as there was no snow on the deck or on their walks since it had all melted. Since December, there had been a pile of snow. Storm had been playing with it, but now, sadly, it was time to say goodbye. Storm spent all day with the pile as it melted. Rolling on it and snuggling up against it, he said goodbye to his beloved winter.
Eventually, the pile melted and was gone – but Storm was fortunate – it didn’t last for long. According to Larson, it finally melted on the fifth, but the following Monday, the snow was back. There isn’t much snow at present, but it’s fine. He cherishes every moment he spends with snow and wishes he could enjoy it year-round. During the summer, his family does set up ice baths for him outside, but it’s just not the same.
Larson joked about some people demanding they move to a place where it is cold year-round like Antarctica.
