This is the story of a 16 year old Labrador pup who completed his bucket list and sadly passed away, without any regrets. Poh, the fur ball will be greatly missed by the entire world…
It took Poh and his family nearly 11 months to complete Poh’s bucket list of adventures before the adorable fur ball passed on to doggy heaven. When Poh was 15 years old, the vets diagnosed him with terminal disease and that’s when his parents Thomas Neil Rodriguez and Yuko Ogino decided to make Poh’s stay worth while. On the 12th of February, Poh passed away in his mommy’s arms with all his loved ones beside him…
Here’s what his daddy had to say, “Today 12/16 at 4:30 pm, #pohthedog was ‘scheduled’ to be euthanized. Such a strange idea you know? To have to set a date and time for something like that, to have that on you days ‘to do list’. ‘Do pilates, pick up some milk and eggs, oh yeah and put down my dog’. See… So. Weird. Unfortunately, the chances of Poh going naturally were slim.”
“Essentially we would have had to allow him to starve to death, which was not an option. So with poh’s overall behavior indicating to us that he was finally ready to let go, we made the ‘hard decision’ and set a date. Yuko and I believe that Poh was somehow looking out for us, sparing us the associated guilt I would have had with having to help him transition. Thank you everyone here who has left us these kind words.” Take a look at their journey on page 2 below.
