Adorable Therapy Dog Falls Asleep On His Own Swearing-In Ceremony! (Part 2)

Here’s Part 1 of this story! Madeiros, a school resource officer, believes Brody will help people, both young and old, as a therapy dog. His plan is to take Brody to nursing homes, local events, and community institutions like schools and universities.

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected Brody’s training. Typically, the dog is supposed to interact with as many people as possible. Still, the lockdown restrictions mean that he can’t meet as many people as the police will like him to.

But Officer Keith insists that Brody coming on at this time is actually very beneficial. The police officers always cheer up when he enters a room with the dog, and he generally raises the mood of the officers at this period. Brody is expected to commence his official training soon. If Brody passes his exams in a year, he will become a certified therapy dog.

The video of Brody sleeping through his swearing-in ceremony became an instant hit online. The post on the Facebook page of the Bristol Rhode Island Police Department received over 250,000 views within days of its posting.

Officer Medeiros tells us some more fun things about Brody. Brody’s favorite snack is his training treats. Apparently, he really loves gifts. Officer Medeiros also says that he has a 6-year old English Labrador-Ziggy. Brody loves whatever toy Ziggy is playing with, as they are an inseparable pair.
