After Daughter Leaves For College Dad Does The Sweetest Thing For Her Dog

The hollow feeling made by an empty nest when one of the children of the family leaves for college is never an easy feeling to experience for parents. Unfortunately, it can be one that is just as difficult to handle for pups.

When Annie Shi went to college, her pup Tara was left behind at home. The two had always been close and would curl up together on Annie’s bed every day and night. Annie was heartbroken when she heard that Tara would ask her parents to open the door to Annie’s room every day, hoping she would be there, and becoming devastated daily to find the room empty. Annie’s room had always been Tara’s favorite place to be, but she didn’t want to be in there alone.

But then Annie’s dad came up with a solution. He began using Annie’s room as his office. Every day, he goes into the room, sets up his things on her desk, and works. Meanwhile, Tara – happy that there is finally someone in the room to be with her – will rest on Annie’s bed, just like how she used to.

Annie still comes home to visit as often as she can, but is beyond happy to see the increasing closeness in relationship between Tara and her dad. While Tara still misses Annie terribly, now that she has someone to be there with her, she is calmer and happier – and so is her Dad!
