Here’s Part 1 of this story. Eric and Bella tried everything they knew to bring Bella home. They told friends and neighbors Bella’s description and requested that anyone with information should share.
The went around the area, dropping clothes at different spots. Since dogs recognize people by scent, Bella would remember the scent from their clothes and come home. Being a pup, they believed that Bella couldn’t have gone very far. Even in all the chaos, there was some hope. At least, they knew that Bella was alive. Some neighbors reported seeing her around after the tornado. Eric and Bella held on to this hope and believed that they would find Bella.
Their search finally yielded results towards the end of April. One of their concerned friends, Sarah, publicized the missing pup’s name and description. Sarah got a call on a Friday. The call was from an animal grooming service. This was not a new thing for Sarah because she does this a lot, helping pet parents find their pets.
Bella was not yet in the custody of the animal grooming center. They only found her in the neighborhood. Sarah got the information and did what she does best. She had to recover Bella without startling her too much so that she does not run off again. First, Sarah placed cameras in the axis where Bella was spotted. The cameras captured Bella’s movements. Sarah blocked the exits and jumped over the fence to get Bella back home.
Sarah called Eric and reunited Bella with the family. Eric and Faith were so excited to hold Bella again. It was a very welcome relief from the sadness that followed the tornado. Thanks to heroes Bella and Sarah.
