An animal shelter in Springfield Michigan flaunted their blooming, pregnant dog in a darling photoshoot. The pictures were then posted online as a way to peak the interests of candidate dog parents.
The model and soon-to-be-mother is named Jazz and she is currently under the care of Saginaw County Animal Care and Control. Her shelter says that her pups will not be put up for adoption until they are born. Once they are born, the search for a forever home will commence.
A forever home refers to a family that a dog will live with for the rest of their life. This normally infers that the dog won’t ever be surrendered to a shelter, re-homed, or abandoned. Ideally, this sounds amazing as every dog would want to be loved by the same family all their life in a forever home. However, the downs of reality paint a different picture. Circumstances change and the concept of a forever home may seem too inflexible to compete with these changes.
It is much rather better if every dog is given the tender love and care they need. Whether this is found staying in the same home forever or living in two or three different homes; it shouldn’t really matter. In as much as there are people who abandon their dogs for foul or selfish reasons, it has been proven that a lot more dog parents rehome their dogs responsibly by proactively finding them new homes or by working alongside a credible shelter or rescue group when needed.
