Army Sergeant and Puppy Reunite After Meeting Overseas

While carrying out her duties overseas, Army Sergeant Webb came across a group of stray dogs. Out of the group, she noticed a weaker puppy which compelled her to care for her.

She named her soft-haired friend PupPup and that began a close bond; hindered once, but destined to prevail. After some time overseas, simultaneously fulfilling her responsibilities and taking care of PupPup, Webb was informed that her stay would be cut short and she would be going back to the States soon.

This was heartbreaking for the Sergeant because she had such a strong bond with PupPup; having said that the thought of leaving her prompted her to take action. Webb contacted Paws of War which is a non-profit organization that trains and places shelter dogs to provide comfort, service, and independence to U.S military personnel and Veterans.

They are also championed in their efforts to reduce the number of dogs being sent to kill-shelters where they are euthanized. In Webbs’ case, the organization had no problem reuniting her with PupPup, especially after receiving her moving message. Webb described her deep concern for PupPup’s wellbeing in her absence noting that the area she was found was very unkind to little puppies.

Not long after, the cofounder of Paws of War, Robert Misseri went straight to work on PupPup’s case and visited Webb while she was still left with a week till her departure. They immediately got the pup vaccinated and found her a foster home to quarantine in and four canceled flights later, PupPup was on her way to be with her parent. Webb has since described her joy and gratitude to Paws of War in having her little PupPup in her arms once again.
