ASPCA Rescues 50 Dogs Including French And English Bulldogs From Michigan Puppy Mill - Now Up For Adoption!

On December 15, the ASPCA rescued more than 50 dogs in a puppy mill in Oscada, Michigan.

The ASPCA responders assisted Michigan authorities in seizing more than 50 dogs from the disgusting facility.

French bulldogs, Pugs, Schnauzers, English bulldogs and more were found in terrible conditions –living in small wire cages in a dark, crowded, filthy basement and outdoor pens.

These poor dogs didn’t have access to adequate food and clean water, nor any experience interacting with humans and fellow dogs.

Most of the dogs were hungry, thirsty and terrified.

“What’s truly tragic is that this not uncommon in the puppy mills that we’ve seen,” said Tim Rickey, Vice President of ASPCA Field Investigations and Response. Fortunately for these dogs, four defendants were ultimately charged with 24 counts of animal cruelty and the dogs finally received the medical attention and appropriate environments they deserved.

UPDATE 2/17/16: The ASPCA announced the dogs are now available for adoption at the Roscommon County Animal Shelter. If you are interested in adopting one of these dogs, please call the Roscommon County Animal Shelter at 989-366-0260. All interested adopters will be asked to fill out an application before visiting the shelter. According to MLive.com, “Once applications are reviewed, the shelter will contact applicants to schedule appointments to discuss their home environments and capability to care for the animal, particularly if the dog has special needs.”
