Nothing quite gets us cringing like a smelly morning breath. It genuinely is not the first thing we want to smell in the morning or any time of the day at all!
Unfortunately, many of our canine companions tend to suffer from bad breath. Bad breath can be an indication of an underlying condition, such as inflamed gums or gut issues, and should be ruled out by your vet first. Although exercise and a good diet are important for your favorite furry friend’s health, there are many dog lovers and vets out there vouching for additional products that they have found to be effective for bad breath.
As with any product, not every dog will respond the same. What is extremely effective for one canine companion might not have the same effect for your dog. It is therefore up to you to find what may work best for you and you dog, and here are some regularly heard suggestions on what is out there:
- Dental kits: these include an enzymatic dental gel, chews, and sometimes a toothpaste. They are advertised as kits that take care of the layers of gunk on your dog’s teeth, which are then effectively removed through the chewing section of the process. If you feel you want the full kit experience, perhaps a dental kit is something that you can try
- Toothpaste: doggy toothpaste is designed to remove the build-up layers of plaque and bacteria that have stuck to your precious pooch’s teeth. If you feel a toothpaste could be the answer for you, why not give it a shot! There are plenty out there for you to choose from
- Dental chews: doggy dental chews are advertised as a method to brush the teeth and maintain healthy gums, all through the chewing action of these specialized snacks. This method could also be effective, and if you think it is the one for you, pop down to your local pet stores to explore your options and the latest advice!
