Noah, the German shepherd, died taking a bullet for three children and their mother after a road-raging gunman opened fire on their SUV.
According to Atlanta Police Sgt. Gregory Lyon told NBC News, the mom and her kids weren’t even the targets of the shooting.
The unlucky family was just bystanders in an argument between a gun-wielding motorist and another man outside an Atlanta strip mall Friday.
“It’s a really sad story for the whole family,” said Lyon. “I’m a big dog lover. It’s just a sad thing to happen the day after Thanksgiving.”
