In late October last year, a bulldog was thrown out of a truck in Woodbridge, Connecticut. Jen Dellacrose was driving behind the truck and saw it happen.
Dellacrose picked up the dog and took her to her house. She then called her friend, Leigh Ann Russ, who volunteers at the Woodbridge Animal Control shelter.
A Woodbridge Animal Control Officer, Jess Moffo, described the dog’s condition as one of the worst breeding cases they had seen, as you could tell from her physical appearance that her parents used her solely for that. She said it was likely her previous parents dumped her because they were “just done with her”
The staff at Woodbridge Animal Control decided the most appropriate name for the dog was Mary because she survived by the grace of God. Mary had to undergo surgery to remove her uterus and save her life. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and she made a full recovery.
The Woodbridge Animal Control has offered to give a cash reward to anyone with information that would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the unidentified person(s) who dumped Mary. Mary was finally adopted after spending 5 months in the shelter. The family, who have an older bulldog, said Mary would feel right at home and have a friend she can play with.
